Project: Explosives Detection Systems Infrastructure in Terminal 2
This grant is intended for the procurement and installation of checked baggage explosives detection systems and checkpoint explosives detection equipment. It is administered by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
How is San Francisco using this grant?
This grant will reimburse San Francisco International Airport for the modification and construction at Terminal 2 to incorporate the TSA Checked Baggage Inspection System. The Terminal 2 Renovation Project for SFO will enable the Airport Commission to accommodate the growth in passengers and an increased demand for airline contact gates.
Project Status:
Planning and design work for this project is underway and installation has begun, with over 50% of the total project now complete. To date, 28.46 full time jobs have been created for San Francisco residents.
