This grant provides funding directly to law enforcement agencies having primary law enforcement authority to create and preserve jobs and to increase their community policing capacity and crime-prevention efforts.

How is San Francisco using this grant?
This grant will allow San Francisco to hire 50 new police officer positions for three years.

In addition to providing increased crime fighting capabilities, this project benefits the San Francisco economy by stimulating economic growth through job creation.

Project Status:
Forty-two officer candidates have been hired and are currently training at the San Francisco Police Academy.
