HUD Public Housing Competitive Grant: Rosa Parks

Project: Capital Improvements to Rosa Parks housing Development

This grant is intended for the development, financing and modernization of public housing developments and for renovations and energy conservation retrofit investments. It is administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

How is San Francisco using this grant?
This grant will be used to help Rosa Parks Housing Development modify 9 units to become fully UFAS compliant and improve non-dwelling areas to insure their ADA compliance.

How will this project benefit San Francisco?
The three HUD Public Housing Competitive Grant projects will result in the creation of over 100 jobs will be created during the term of construction. The capital improvement of this project will also result in tremendous energy and cost savings to the city as well as a reduction in pollution caused by the currently energy inefficient structures.

Project Status:
This grant was awarded on September 30, 2009. The San Francisco Housing Authority is working with the Department of Housing and Urban Development to begin work on these projects immediately.
