Project: Retrofit Bay Area
This grant, which is administered through the California Energy Commission, is intended to help cities to increase energy efficiency and the deployment of renewable energy technologies, promote economic vitality through an increase in “green jobs,” and reduce green house gas emissions. Funding may be used for residential building retrofit programs, municipal and commercial building targeted measure retrofit programs, low interest energy efficiency financing programs or clean energy business financing programs.
How is San Francisco using this grant?
The City and County of San Francisco will use this grant to implement Retrofit Bay Area in San Francisco. This program, which is led by the Association of Bay Area Governments, will assist homeowners in taking advantage of energy efficient retrofit programs. This will include utilizing innovative financing and rebates, promoting green workforce development, and outreach programs to local residents.
Project Status:
The City and County of San Francisco was awarded this grant in February 2010. The project is expected to being in April 2010. Check back soon for more information.
