JOBS NOW! SF Program
Amount Received: $26,500,000
Recipient: Human Services Agency
Project: Expand local employment opportunities through the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) program
The JOBS NOW! SF Program Has Created Over 3,600 Jobs

Jobs Created To Date: 3,620
This grant expands previously allocated funding to provide an immediate source of income for low-income families and to stimulate local economic recovery. This grant is administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
How is San Francisco using this grant?
JOBS NOW! SF builds upon several successful transitional jobs programs already in place at the San Francisco Human Services Agency, which were designed to help unemployed individuals address barriers to employment, develop soft skills, gain work experience and progress toward self-sufficiency. JOBS NOW! SF participants will exit the program with a stable employment history, leaving them better positioned to obtain an unsubsidized job when the stimulus period ends.
How will the program benefit San Francisco?
This program will help unemployed individuals gain training, work experience and other skills to help them find stable employment. It also benefits local employers by providing a pool of qualified workers and by subsidizing 100% of their wages until September 30, 2010.
Program Status:
To date, JOBS NOW! SF has placed 3,620 previously unemployed San Francisco residents in employment situations. For more information on this program, please click here to visit the JOBS NOW! SF website.
