Dislocated Workers Employment and Training Services

This grant is intended to provide quality employment and training services to assist individuals in finding employment, and to help employers find skilled workers. Funds will provide workforce services to workers who have been recently laid-off and are enrolled in Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program. Services include job search resources, job counseling and job training. This program is administered by the U.S. Department of Labor.

 

How is San Francisco using this grant?

The Office of Economic and Workforce Development will use this grant to expand their services to dislocated workers. Activities that are eligible to receive funding include personalized career counseling, interview and resume advice, career workshops, and job placement services.

This program will help place dislocated workers in employment situations and provide training and career services to these individuals. These activities will strengthen the local workforce and improve the economic vitality of the city.
